Bio

Ernest Ogbozor is a visiting research fellow at the Centre for Peace Studies (CPS), Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto, Nigeria. He is also a doctoral candidate at the School for Conflict Analyses and Resolution, George Mason University. Ernest doctoral research is titled “The Impact of Violent Extremism on Rural Livelihoods in the Lake Chad Basin.” He was a Ford Foundation International Fellow at the Heller School for Social Policy and Management, Brandeis University from 2010 to 2012. He also worked with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Prisoner’s Rehabilitation and Welfare Action (PRAWA/Nigeria) and TechnoServe/Nigeria in different capacities. Most recent, Ernest played a lead role in USIP’s project “Strengthening graduate education in peace and conflict resolution studies in Northern Nigeria.” He has several publications to his credit including: Understanding the Informal Security Sector in Nigeria.
