Moral Education and National Integration
abstract
This paper examines the linkage between Moral Education and National Integration. The paper also supported the argument that Moral Education can be a viable vehicle for national integration. To achieve this objectives, the role of education in strengthening the national unity have been discussed. The recommendations to the problems have been offered. Education, social and economic unity were identified as the major challenges to focus on national integration. Conceptual and national theoretical issues of morality have been discussed. The paper demonstrates that although moral education can serve as a vehicle for national integration, Nigeria has not exploited education to promote integration, rather undermined integration through unequal access to curriculum/administrative practices that deepened ethnic identities.
