Summary

On February 27, 2019, the RESOLVE Network hosted the Western Balkans Research Initiative project launch roundtable at the U.S. Institute of Peace. This roundtable convened policy experts, researchers, and practitioners to examine the dynamics of violent extremism in the Western Balkans and push the conversation beyond individual drivers. The roundtable explored regional trends that are vital to understanding the violent extremism challenge and to designing and implementing effective policy and programmatic interventions in the Western Balkans. 

The roundtable discussion helped guide the focus of a series of analytical products by RESOLVE through this initiative to elevate regional understandings of violent extremism and increase engagement across individuals actively working in this region.
