The RESOLVE Network Research Fellowship program connects senior subject matter experts, who serve as mentors, to qualified emerging early and mid-career researchers, who serve as fellows, to jointly pursue cutting edge research on the drivers of violent extremism, political violence, and violent social movements in one of the Network’s priority countries. This program seeks to elevate the capacity and profile of local researchers who best understand their home context in which violent extremism presents a threat and are best positioned to drive forward a country- and or/region-specific research agenda on these issues.

Through a learning-by-doing model, fellows will work with select Network affiliated senior researchers and partner organizations on specific projects and utilize their research experience while further building upon their knowledge of research study design and data analysis, project management, operational security, leadership, and policy-relevant dissemination activities. Training will be provided in the form of one-on-one mentoring, workshops, and short-term research institutes over the course of the equivalent of two academic semesters. At the end of the program, fellows will co-author policy briefs with their mentors published by the RESOLVE Network and present their findings alongside their mentors at the RESOLVE Network’s annual Fall Forum in September in Washington, DC.
