Dr. Marija Djoric is an Associate Professor at the Institute for Political Studies and at the Faculty for Media and Communication at the University of Belgrade. Professor Djoric is a recognized expert of violent extremism in the Western Balkans. She has published extensively on right- and left-wing extremism, hooliganism, terrorism, and animal rights in the Balkans, including five books and around 90 articles, policy papers, and editorials. She is engaged in a Council of Europe project Enhancing penitentiary capacities in addressing radicalization in prisons in the Western Balkans. She has worked with the Regional Cooperation Council, the RESOLVE Network, the OSCE, USAID, and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Serbia on the project Democratic and National Capacities of Political Institutions of Serbia in the Process of International Integrations. Dr. Djoric completed her PhD at the Faculty of Political Sciences at the University of Belgrade.
